So I know I'm not the best blogger out there...but this is my attempt to bring it back to life. I hope to be posting on a more regular basis. Lately I have really enjoyed reading my friends blogs as they share what God is doing in their lives so I'm going to attempt to do the same. As I have this next week off I'm hoping to be able to get off to a great start.
SERVING THE JR. HIGH AT CHURCH OF THE REZ
Tomorrow at church in the Jr. High classroom we are teaching through the story of Esther. I'm excited to see the story come to life as we not only tell the story but then discuss it. Over these past 6 months I have come to love serving at Church of the Resurrection. Brett the youth pastor along with the two other volunteers have been a great team to work with. The method we use is called storying which at first I was rather skeptical of,but have seen the impact is has on our students. They are making deep connections and are seeing the Bible as a continual story that builds towards the coming of Christ. The jr. highers' love and knowledge of God's word is unbelievable and they ways they see it connect to their lives reminds me once again of Hebrews 4:12, God's word truly is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword.
Be praying tomorrow as we split up the guys and girls that God will be at work in their hearts. Spending time discussing the story and the application with just the girls is always an eye-opening time. The girls are really open and I am continually blown away by how God uses His word in their lives.

Yay for blog revitalization! well, i dont really know what "storying" is, but it sounds awesome. i apprepriate methods of evangelism that include the whole redemption story, beginning with creation and extending beyond the resurrection. we are such story-telling people. i think we feel and see the gospel when we experience it through narrative/story. at least i connect with it better that way!
And thanks for the comment on my blog. I dont know where it is appropriate to return a response- i could answer on my blog or i could answer on yours, i could facebook you, i could email you or call you. so many avenues of communication. since im already writing to you here, ill just tack my response onto this comment.
--you asked what i know of the djibouti culture aside from the religion and my answer is... not much. i have a few books from the library but its difficult to find the time to read them while im still in school. sooo hopefully once school is over ill be able to thumb through them and learn what i can before being immersed in the culture! thanks for asking!
